  Tae Kwon Do for Children


  What is Tae Kwon Do?

Tae Kwon Do is a modern martial art, characterized by it's fast, high and spinning kicks. There are multiple interpretations of the name Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is often translated as 'the way of hand and foot'. One definition of the name Tae Kwon Do is

Tae='to strike or block with the foot' or 'to kick', it also means 'jump'
K'won='Fist', 'to strike or block with hand'
Do='The way of' or 'art'.

Put this together and Tae Kwon Do means: "The art of Kicking and Punching" or "The art of unarmed combat". The sport has been founded in Korea and is one of the popular modern martial arts.

Objectives of Tae Kwon Do

1. to develop an appreciation for Tae Kwon Do as a sport and as an art
2. to achieve physical fitness through positive participation
3. to improve mental discipline and emotional equanimity
4. to learn self-defense skills
5. to develop a sense of responsibility for one self and others.

Tae Kwon Do for kids
Tae Kwon Do has no age limits and is a very good sport for children. They learn fast reactions through games, learn to respect others, and learn to know their abilities as well as recognize and work on their limitations.

The mental and physical exercise provides discipline, concentration and helps to keep the mind and body focused on positive thoughts and activities. 

Ages:  4-14
Day & Time: Monday 5:30-7:00pm & Thursday 5:30-6:30pm
Cost: $40.00 per 4 week session   

Sessions:
Session 1: Sept. 17th – Oct. 12th
Session 2: Oct. 15th-Nov. 8th
Session 3: Nov. 12th-Dec. 6th

  Gliding


  Gliding – Unique sliding disc exercise that allows for smooth and fluid movement.  This class concentrates on working multiple muscles while engaging core stabilization throughout the range of motion.  It incorporates body sculpting, balance, flexibility, core and cardio.









 

  Kickboxing 101


  Kickboxing 101 - Easy to follow routines combine the basics of punching and kicking for a complete muscular and cardiovascular workout.  A motivational full body workout, with lean, powerful results!







 


 

 

  Cycling


  High Energy cardiovascular build up of steep hill climbing, sprints and intervals. This class is a serious calorie burner while transforming the lower body.

 CardioSculpt


  CardioSculpt - This class combines 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise with 30 minutes of body sculpting and resistance training to offer a balanced workout.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

  The Mixer


  This exciting 60-minute workout combines a moderate to high intensity cardio workout with strength training.  Enjoy combinations of kickboxing, step intervals, and strengthening all in one fun session.  Appropriate for all fitness levels.

 

 

 

  

 

 

 


 


  Body Sculpting


  The Body sculpting class combines the principles of Pilates while utilizing a stability ball, body bar, weights, and steps for core conditioning which helps to improve balance and muscular endurance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



  Pilates


  A method of body conditioning which involves stretching and strengthening exercises. Pilates tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, and unites the body and mind. Emphasis is placed on breathing techniques and use of the core muscles.

Exercises are performed to relaxing music. It is appropriate for all fitness levels and is easily adaptable to the individuals needs.
Excellent for elongating muscles and working your core. Great for abs and very relaxing!

  In just 30 minutes, an intense, rock solid Ab workout for the results you want!  The perfect compliment to your daily routine.  Attend before or after your cardio workout.  No frills, just drills!











 

  LBA Xpress - Legs, Buns & Abs


  This class concentrates on the major muscles of the legs, buns, & abs through a series of exercise and intensive isometric moves, delivering a hard-driving workout for the lower body.  Another great class to attend before or after your cardio workout.
